Volleyball Jumping Drills

Volleyball jumping drills help the players to improve their strength and endurance. Lateral and Vertical jumps are critical at spiking and blocking hits at volleyball even these drills are main sources to improve them.

Volleyball jumping drills is also named plyometrics, would help players for improving the strength and endurance those skills those are highly critical within performing well at any game of volleyball. There're some recommended drills of jumping for volleyball, which could be performed through veteran and beginners both the players alike.

Box Jumps

Observing how high vertical player jump is at the same time as the training, box jumps could be used. At the jumping drill, any player jumps in the top of any box or another prominent platform softly even with balance. Then player would assume and step down his unusual position. For any drill of basic box jump, player requires performing jump ten- fifteen times. He could increase height of box or platform for any advanced vertical and more intense exercise of jumping.

Multiple Box Jumps

Drill uses a few principle of earlier drill however, along with multiple boxes player jumps in any platform or box then instantly jumps back to the original position. Once he reaches original position, as he jumps on next box. Whole process is repetitive until player has jumped in all platforms or boxes. He could do the multiple times along with rest between the sets. That usually done through advanced players still desire to develop the vertical jumps of volleyball.

Lateral Cone Hops

At the drill, any player requires any traffic cone otherwise anything which, he could jump on. He placed himself on side of object at any relaxed position of standing. Then he jumps sideways on object, to land in other side. When he lands, the jumps immediately back to the original position. That's done multiple times for improving any lateral jump of player.

2-Foot Ankle Hops

That's very essential jumping drill, mostly used to improve vertical jump of any player. Movement is too simple. Player would start at any position there the feet are accepted length apart. Then he'll hop, to start movement at his joint of ankle. As he hits ground, he jumps straight away back up. Variations could be implemented like somewhat moving towards the direction in landings.

Death March

The drill is done later than any regular session of workout, as muscles of player are already stretched even his energy is generally used up. At the drill, any player picks any target to hang above him. It could either be backboard of any low ceiling, any basketball ring any anything that could be hanged. The positions of player himself under target even then he jumps for reaching this at any position close to blocking volleyball. That's repeated until player could no longer to reach target three times at any row. It's any demanding drill, which really earns the name.
