By: Howard Walsh

The Wallyball it's a sport what combines racquetball, tennis and volleyball, also know as rebound volleyball and Deckerball, was created in Kansas Illinois by Joe Garcia in the seventies, was invented because a physical education teacher and a couple of his students realized at schools when there is a bad weather and kids can not practice sports outside they need it some indoor sport.

In this way they created some kind of sport where it's need it to use several skills that are used in another sports, and... Wallyball born. Wallyball it's play in a racquetball court between two and four players in each side, with a ball similar as the one used in volleyball, the strategy it's also the same as volleyball.

Usually it's play with three players each side, the main idea it's on the defensive way to have a blocker, another one to play the soft shots and a last one to keeps in bounds behind them for the long shots very similar as volleyball, for the offensive to keep the idea of have one to receive the ball and pass to the second player who serves to the third that hits the ball to the opposite side of the court.

Wallyball it's a great sport when you need to train the skills of speed reaction, agility and coordination, due to the size of the court where it is played, the number of players which helps to everybody on the game to play, is not the same situation in volleyball, sometimes, players can not even touch the ball, so it is a huge help.

The game has two time-outs of thirty seconds each, if some team last longer a penalty is given, the ball during a service can not touch the celling or the back wall but it can touch any side wall, the ball it's played can touch any wall including the back wall during three touches of your team to pass the ball to the other side of the court.

The wallyball as sport, may help to improve the team work and develop your team skills wich they could use in any other sports they wanted or simply get into fitness and enjoy the game.
