We know mainly two different types of courts the one is called indoor court that basically is inside a gym, and the other one is called outdoor court, beach volleyball or sand volleyball it doesn't matter how you choose to called it is still the same, playing on a court made of sand located outside and obviously can exist several elements that can difficult the play such as the wind, rain or even the sun for the players who are in front of it.
These kind of aspects are important and are what I am trying to focus to make a difference between these courts and not determinate which one is better, because each of them have the pros and cons in its features, inside you can find a hard court, the light is artificial and may be easier to run and to jump for the regular of the floor is but you may use more protection because could be easier to have an injury or hurt yourself by falling on a not appropriated way to the floor.
For another hand outside you can find and advantage of having less injuries than indoor because if you fall you will land on a soft sand floor, I am not saying that you will never have and injury in your life if you play volleyball in this court because anything can happen and accidents too, but it is less the risk, if you play in a court like this you might find harder to make the move that you easily do on indoor courts and the other aspect i ind is what i talk before of the weather and nature.
This explanation is mainly to play in a competition level more than a hobby, if you play just for fun you may use more a outdoor kind of court and perhaps you wouldn't do the same exercise or effort as you would do if you train for some kind of tournament. The difference between these two are pretty clear, if you are used to play on one particular court for a long time, you might find a little confusing to change to the other but remember it is still the same game.
Of indoor to outdoor the basic is the softness of the floor, in the case you need to play just on a sand volleyball court, you should practice several hours how to move and how you could react in a situation now that your feet are in sand, learn to calculate the time and distance you need to move from one place to another, which is the best way to make a jump, how to land, those are aspects to have in mind before a real match in other way you may be on disadvantage.
