Kira was a standout setter at Carroll College where she was named to the All League team in both years She then moved on to Montana State University where she was named New-comer of the year award her junior year and All-Conference as a senior.
She has been the 8th grade coach at Carson Valley Middle School along with being the JV and Varsity coach at Douglas High School
Kira has coached with both Silver State and Capital City Volleyball clubs where she has been a head coach and coordinator for the Area League program. She is also currently the club's setting coach.
She is still active as a player, along with 16 Blue Coach Soupha Jones, they are part of the the Reno Rah Women's team that travels to nationals each year.
Kira is married and has a two sons.
