Doug Ramirez comes to Capital City Volleyball with a great deal of experience as a player and as a coach. Doug has been coaching youth volleyball for the past 12 years at both the club and high school levels. Coach Ramirez led his 17 and under team from Delta Valley (Stockton) to a JO’s Open Division Championship in 1998 followed by an 11th place finish in 1999. He has also coached at Empire (16’s gold), Santa Monica Beach Club (14-2), Gold Cal (14-1), along with Sierra Nevada (17-1) and Team Nevada (15-1).
He led Rio Americana to the California State Volleyball Tournament and St. Mary’s (Stockton) to the Northern California Final. Most recently he was the head coach at Sage Ridge and led them to the first playoff appearance in school history.
His playing experience includes time on the CSU, Chico Club Volleyball team as well as many USVBA indoor tournaments and sand/grass doubles volleyball tournaments.
